Titanfall 2’s Single Player “Not Your Average Corridor FPS”

titanfall 2The original Titanfall was so focused on multiplayer that it didn’t come with a single-player mode at all. That’ll change with Titanfall 2, which will ship this fall with the series’ first single-player experience. Since no one’s played one before, what can we expect?

“It really isn’t your average linear, for lack of a better word, corridor FPS,” Steve Fukuda, game director at Respawn Entertainment, told CNet. “It’s not like you’re getting pulled through this series of explosions or people yelling at you. There’s going to be very quiet moments where you’re taking in a broad environment and you have to figure out how you’re going to traverse it.”

Fukuda went on to say the single-player was designed to feel “like a big swimming pool with enemies in it.” The reason for why you’re fighting (the story, we mean) hasn’t been revealed, but we do know the central charcters will be pilot Jack Cooper and Titan BT-7274 (who is a robot).

Titanfall 2 will be released for Playstation 4, XBox One and PC on October 28.
