It depends. Sometimes, you can mislead yourself with self education. I mean, it's a good idea but you have to actually know what you're learning to be successful.
home schooled ? yes I support it ! theres too many idiots in the system preaching their own ideas to your kids, even when you don't support those ideas ! its very easy to brainwash the masses when you hit them young. just look at history and the countries that still par take in it (basically every country, including the USA ! ) people want to rewrite history or forget certain parts, or push their own beliefs onto others while you have no clue as to what they're teaching your kids.....more or less brainwashing your kids to their own beliefs. all it takes is 1 teacher with their own beliefs about any subject to preach it to your young child and they start believing it...even though that teacher is a moron & goes against your beliefs & morals.
I'll give you guys an example, not just home schooling, but it's for example learning to be a developer or a programmer at home instead of having formal education.
Self education is one of the best thing to teach something for me because it will be impressed in your mind clearer and it will last more time, at least this is the "effect" self educations does on me.
that type. sure go for it, theres nothing wrong with learning something on your own. though depending on what job & who you apply with for a job they might want some kind of proof/degree from some kind of school & may not look so highly at those self taught degrees online. though those people very well might know even more than those that went to a real college for their degree. when it comes to those types of degrees online vs college its all political BS, you're just gonna have to prove to them you know what you're doing. & some are narrow minded that only accept from these colleges, while they might be loosing out on a great person for the job. best of luck for you.
Yes, I support it. Half of what we are taught in school is useless or an edited truth. I will definitely self-educate my children so that they develop their talents and know the truth about the society they live in.
It depends. I think a combination of self education and formal is important for development and understanding. There are just some topics and ideas that are best fostered in formal education environment. However, I think it's more impressive when an individual is self educated.
