MW2/MW3 Hybrid Game Mini-Project

    Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 are both looked upon by fans as being two pretty low points in the series. Of course, both games had their good parts, but were largely overshadowed by their bad parts. However, I've been recently thinking, and if somehow the two games could combine together and erase the bad and keep the good, how would it turn out?

    This is where we all come in. As a good majority of you probably don't know, I was Captain Price at the old MW3F, and I led the Community Project over there which I still think was extremely successful. Since BOII is still a solid month and a few days out, I thought we could kill a few days by developing the perfect hybrid between Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3. Keeping the good, killing the bad, and finding a way that everything could mesh perfectly.

    Since this project is rather small, I'm not going to bother appointing leaders or even making separate threads, as that would clutter things up, and I feel we can get this done pretty effectively in this solo thread.

    As of now, our current goals are as follows...

    • Balance and redesign the weapons list using weapons from MW2 and MW3
    • Make decisions on subjects such as Weapon Proficiencies, Shotguns being primary/secondary, and Point Streaks
    • Develop a balanced perk list using perks from both games, yet making minor changes (OMA, Commando)
    • Re-create the ultimate map list, with around sixteen out of the box, using DLC maps as well

    I'm gonna reserve a few extra spaces below this, so I can leave this original post unaltered, and we can have room for the weapons, perks, and everything else.

    Tier One

    Sleight of Hand - Faster reloading.
    Sleight of Hand Pro - Faster weapon swap.

    Marathon - Unlimited sprint duration.
    Marathon Pro - Faster mantling of obstacles.

    Scavenger - Resupply ammunition and grenades from dead enemies.
    Scavenger Pro - Increased starting ammunition.

    One Man Army - Swap classes in-game. This perk replaces your secondary weapon.
    One Man Army Pro - Swap classes 33% faster.

    Blind Eye - Invisible to enemy AI air support and sentry turrets.

    Tier Two

    Bling - Allows for two attachments on your primary weapon.

    Cold-Blooded - Invisible to player controlled pointstreaks and thermal scopes.
    Cold-Blooded Pro - Hides the red nametag above your player to enemy players.

    Quickdraw - Allows quicker aim times.
    Quickdraw Pro - Faster grenade and equipment usage.


    Tier Three

    Stalker - Faster movement when aiming down your sights.
    Stalker Pro - Delays triggered explosives.

    Recon - Explosive and bullet damage paints enemy on the mini-map until they recover.
    Recon Pro - Immune to fall damage.

    Marksman - Allows long range target identification.
    Marksman Pro - Longer hold breath time for scoped weapons.

    Steady Aim - Increases accuracy when firing from the hip.
    Steady Aim Pro - Your weapon is ready faster after sprinting.

    SitRep - Enemy equipment glows red hot.
    SitRep Pro - Enemy footsteps are louder.

    Ninja - Silent footsteps.
    Ninja Pro - Invisible to enemy UAVs.

    So we basically mash together MW2 stuff and MW3 stuff into MW23? (dumbed down version)

    Yeah pretty much.

    For example, we could have both the FAL and MK14 if we wanted, or we could just have the FAL, or just the MK14, or whatever.

    For some reason, I really can't explain myself too well on how exactly to do this, but I'm pretty sure you all will understand as soon as we start.

    I was thinking that too, as that's one of the biggest differences between the two games. We'll get onto that later though, as we're doing it sequentially with ARs first.

    For guns like M4, M16 and AK-47, can you specify which game's version you're referring to?

    Btw, in your original AR list, you missed the ACR 6.8 from MW3.

    Here's my general thoughts:

    The FAD must be included. Most unique (auto) AR I've ever seen in a CoD game.

    MK14 and FAL should BOTH be included. We need to mix it up between full-autos, semi-autos and three-bursts.

    TAR-21 must be included because it's fhucking awesome.

    Only have one of the SCARs. I don't care which one it is, but I really don't think having both of them is necessary.

    CoD would not be CoD without the AK-47. Keep it in there, and use the MW2 version for its all-round sexiness.

    Have two burst weapons. The way they had it in MW2 with the M16 and FAMAS was perfect IMO.

    Before I write up my full list, I needed to know, are we having Stopping Power in this game? It would make a huge difference in the way I balance my weapons.

    Well if this project gets going i think it could kill 29 days of my time till halo 4, then i guess i may be gone for a week.

    Need any suggestions ask me (or think for yourself because after all starks the guy making it :D)

    No, stopping power would add too many variables and it generally is not liked by the community now its been taken out of recent cod's.

    Anyways somewhat related would kill times be like mw2 or mw3?
